As a result, this initial edition of the Undertaker’s saga of Deadman versions has been recognized in other public media by the name of “The Old West Mortician”.The character was first introduced with the character Kane The Undertaker for a broadcast of WWF Superstars on the 19th of November the 19th of November, 1990. He was quickly defeated by his initial WWF adversary, Mario Mancini 50at the time. (although this match was recorded three days before his November 22 Survivor Series elimination tag match however, it was not shown on TV until December 15, 1990 version of WWF Superstars which is why it was not being widely regarded as his first appearance). The Undertaker also had a fight prior to his debut on television the 20th of November with Rick Sampson on a taping of WWF Wrestling Challenge.  The match was a rematch with Rick Sampson.

The first time he was telecast on television came during the Survivor Series event in which Calaway was portrayed as the secret partner for the heel from Ted DiBiase’s “Million Dollar Team”About an hour into the contest, The Undertaker eliminated Koko B. Ware by using his final weapon called the Tombstone Piledriver. The Undertaker also defeated Dusty Rhodes before being counted out, but his team prevailed and DiBiase was the sole survivor.
